- stringcalc.tension.gauge(density, T, L, pitch)#
From density, scale length, pitch, and desired tension, compute gauge. Not nominal gauge, precise diameter.
- Parameters:
density (float) –
String material density [lbm in-3].
Important
Although [kg m-3] and [g cm-3] units are more common for density, currently you must convert to [lbm in-3] in order to get a correct answer. But Pint support for this is coming soon!
T (float) – Tension [lbf].
L (float) – Scale length [in].
pitch (str) – Pitch name in SPN, e.g. “A4”.
